GiftQuest Discovering Your Motivating Spiritual Gifts Inventory

The GiftQuest Discovering Your Motivating Spiritual Gifts Inventory is a key component of this discovery and implementation resource.  In considering  its design, we desired to construct an accurate inventory that profiled a group of seven different motivational gifts in groupings of four at a time.  We wanted our design to incorporate the desire that every gift would be encountered in every possible combination, an equal number of times.

The authors felt that most church people will only take a few of these kinds of inventories in their lifetime.  It was the original and ongoing intention to make this an extremely good and accurate one.  It's drawback is that it is so many questions and needs a computer to score the results.  Its strengths are that it is thorough and in utilizing the computer in scoring, the vast potential of the computer is available for interpretation and application of the results.  The computer makes ministry and vocation matching possible, it makes a personalized motivational description possible, it makes a personalized motivational gift profile graphic display possible and it opens up the seeming endless possibilities of congregation or corporate ranking-sorting on a variety of possibilities.

For Your Information: The first 20 questions from the GiftQuest Inventory are printed below.  Each set of four is responded to by circling the one of the four that is most like the respondent and the one that is the least like the respondent.  Typically, respondents find that some sets of four are extremely easy to respond to and some are extremely taxing.

    1.     M     L     My sensitivity to others may be interpreted as acting on emotions.

    2.     M     L     I find it easier to communicate my love through deeds and actions than words.

    3.     M     L     I am seen by others as too insistent in trying to get them to deal with sin--wrong in their life.
